What is Fibroblast?
Fibroblasts are cells that provide collagen and elastin production, which makes the skin shiny and supple. They are also the cells that provide wound healing when any wound is formed on the skin.
What is fibroblast treatment and how is it applied?
As the skin ages, the ability of fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin decreases, and the structure of the skin ages and wears out. In the fibroblast treatment, young stem cells are produced by older cells and these young stem cells are inoculated back to the target areas of the skin.
Effective stem cell treatment is based on the natural cells of a person. In stem cell therapy, a few millimeters of skin piece is taken from behind the ear and grown in a special culture medium for about 3 weeks. It takes an average of 3 to 4 weeks to produce young skin stem cells from the elderly. The produced stem cells are taken into a special liquid. These stem cells can be applied to all areas of the aged skin, including the supraorbital and required areas. Three sessions are held at one-month intervals.
What are the advantages?
- Since it is derived from natural cells, there is no risk of tissue rejection, allergies or infections.
- There is no risk of animal-borne disease.
- It is permanent and long lasting.
- It is not transported anywhere outside the injection site.
When is the effectiveness of fibroblast therapy seen?
Stem cell therapy is an option for anyone with skin aging. However, it is usually reserved for people with seriously worn skin who had other treatments and could not benefit from them. It is usually applied to the elderly and those with severe skin deformities. Although the effectiveness of stem cell therapy can vary depending on the skin problem and the age of the person, fibroblasts are effective for at least 4-5 years.
Fibroblast therapy cannot take effect immediately because it takes time for fibroblast cells to produce collagen and elastin. In general, the first effects begin to be seen with the second injection.
Skin aging in men occurs later. However, if it occurs, significant prolapsing and wrinkles are observed. Skin aging begins mainly after menopause in women. During these periods, stem cell therapy is recommended.
Stem cell therapy reduces wrinkles and makes skin firmer and brighter significantly. Its effects last much longer than other methods.
